Video Strategy: Why you need one

In this video, I want to show you how important it is to have a video strategy.  Because whenever I hear someone say “video didn’t work for me”, 9 times out of 10 it’s because they started WITHOUT a video strategy in place.

By now, everyone knows that video is THE best way to engage your audience, and break through the noise.  Especially for services businesses.  Because people need to get to see you before they can know, like, and trust you.

But first, you NEED a video strategy.  We don’t need to overcomplicate things.  All you need is to answer these 2 questions:

-       WHY do you need a video: are you having trouble explaining what you do… or your website’s visitors don’t read your copy?  Then, you need an explainer video.  But if the problem is that you’re not converting, perhaps you need a lead magnet mini-course to capture the emails of your visitors and work on nurturing them.  Or if you’re having trouble with awareness, perhaps you need to do more video content marketing, where you post educational videos frequently and regularly so that your audience slowly starts to engage with you. Or if you’re in a business that responds to RFPs, you know how challenging it can be to stand out. Many of our clients are actually using RFP videos with great success (one of them told us that they got a standing ovation at the review meeting!). The idea is to create a short video that demonstrates your value proposition and helps visualize the impact your solution can have. Side note: if you ARE responding to RFPs, you should check out this comprehensive resource by RFP360 on a variety of tools that can make your life easier and help you win more business!

-       And then, HOW are you going to promote your video?  You have a video, and you need your target audience to watch it.  How do you bring the two together?  If you get an explainer video for your website, you need to pay to drive traffic to it.  If you’re doing video content marketing, your strategy is more around SEO and consistency, and not at all about paying for clicks.

By answering these 2 questions alone, you will have a much better video strategy than 90% of the companies that use video.
