This video is the 2nd one from a series of videos where we explain how we work with our clients to produce and promote their videos for content marketing, in 7 steps.
In the previous video, we talked about the 1st Step: RESEARCH, where we identify potential content ideas for their videos. We talked about the SEO/keyword & competitive analysis that we perform, in order to identify potential topics that will resonate with their clients.
In this video we are going to talk about the 2nd Step: REFINING YOUR VIDEO CONTENT IDEAS – This is where you go over the preliminary ideas you got from Step 1 and refine them based on your experience and expertise. What are your clients asking you, what are the most common objections that your sales team deals with, what are the most interesting blog posts or white papers you’re seeing… the ones that are getting the most traffic?
All these can be great content ideas for you to cover with your videos. The important thing is to know that you’re not copying anything, you’re just getting ideas, and you make them your own by injecting your angle and expertise.
Think about it this way: if your audience had access to you, what would they ask you about? It may not be directly tied to what you’re offering, and that may require a bit of a mindset shift: you don’t want to be talking about what you’re selling. You want to be constantly adding value. Addressing top-of-mind pain points, and helping your audience figure out answers. Eventually, they will come to you for the execution!
Ideally, you want to be posting at least 1 video a week, so to get started you want to come up with at least 15-20 ideas for topics.
In the next video we are going to talk about the 3rd Step: DRAFTING YOUR CONTENT
